WATER LILIES
from the Portfolio “Rhythms . . . Water to Fall”

lily pads
on ponds
in East Asia,
imagined large frogs
croaking on them,
in the twilight
of my journey.
But here in
the dawn of
these colored leaves,
they permit me
to come out of
my innermost thoughts
to greet the sunrise.
