STORM
(for Stanley H. Barkan)This cabin
Is at sea;
A small wooden boat
Riding the whips
Of the bullying wind,
Washed by the waves
Of the nailing rain.The torn coast submits
To the trawling mist,
The window is blistered
With round wounds of water
I stare
As the new fire
Flares,
Its magic
Shredding the logs
With fondling fingers
Of yellow and red;
